Laura Whiddon
Hello! My name is Laura, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I hold a Master of Counselling from City University, as well as a Diploma of Professional Counselling and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Neuroscience. I have a particular focus on working with neurodivergent individuals, including providing support to those navigating the diagnostic process for ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I offer a compassionate, inclusive space for exploring identity, relationships, and wellbeing.
In my practice, I draw from feminist, narrative, and, when applicable, nature-based approaches. I integrate modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Parts Work, and Narrative Therapy to support each client’s unique needs. I work with a wide range of concerns including executive functioning, nervous system regulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting and relationship challenges, ecological grief, chronic illness and chronic pain.
With a client-centered and trauma-informed lens, I aim to create an adaptable, affirming space that acknowledges the systemic barriers many individuals face. As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of executive functioning, I understand how difficult it can be to manage daily demands, and I bring this empathy into every session.
When working with children and families, I take a systemic approach, meeting with children individually, collaboratively with their parents, or with the whole family to explore relational dynamics. Parents are also welcome to book their own counselling sessions while their child sees another therapist in our clinic.
I offer therapy both in-person and online, supporting children, youth, adults, couples, and families.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation call to see if working together feels like the right fit for you.
